Stent removal (a.k.a holy crap)

Holy crap. That was not as easy as advertised. Next time they can knock me out, thank you very much.

It's out now though, so that's the important part.

It was harder and took a lot longer than they expected to get it out, of course (though it still only took like 20 minutes I think; feels a lot longer when you're laying on the table).

That is all.

  2. To borrow from President Clinton, I feel your pain!

Thanks for the comment on my insurance issues. I clicked through to find your blog and it was like reading about myself. Nerd, cancer, foodie, Top Gear, same oncology clininc, married to a knitter... it's like the Twilight Zone!

Drop me an email sometime... scogotabug@gmail.com

In the meantime, take these two pieces of advice...

The Avastin can raise your blood pressure. Ask Brenda or Valencia next time you're in.

If you go to Xeloda, prepare yourself for a dairy-free diet. It binds to and strips you of lactase leaving you -very- uncomfortable if you consume milk, yogurt, cheese, ice-cream, etc. I'm not sure if I'll ever get my lactase back, but ever since I got off the dairy, life has been muuuuch better.

And for the record, go for the Volkswagen! ;)

  3. Dear Ryan,

I was afraid the stent removal procedure was going to be a problem. I can't imagine how anything like that could be "painless". Which doctor told you it would be??

I was thinking about the ditch you wanted to dig for the gutter pipe. Why do you have to bury it? Why not just run it along the side of the house. If it weren't for all the rocks in your soil, it might be worth the effort. It just seems like a lot of unnecessary effort.

Who is John from the previous comment? The similarities between the two of you are uncanny. It sounds like he gave you some good advice. If you go to the Xeloda, are you ready to give up ice cream?

I'll be seeing you soon. Good luck with chemo tomorrow.

    I Love You,
    Mom
